Some people complain of an unattractively wide face and prominence of the angles of the jaw which may occur through overactivity of the masseter muscle which is used to close the jaws, chew food etc. Clients who suffer with bruxism (teeth grinding) may have excessively wide jaws and suffer with headaches and accelerated rates of tooth wear.
Botulinum toxin can be injected to relax the masseter muscle on both sides. The gradual slimming of this muscle reduces the width of the jaws to create a more attractive oval or heart-shaped face.
