Nefertiti Neck Lift
The ‘turkey neck’ appearance occurs as a result of ageing through a loss of muscle tone, skin elasticity and subcutaneous fat as well as the gravitational descent of the soft tissues of the face. The neck becomes saggy and wrinkly with a prominence of the muscular bands that extend from the jaws to the collar bones and exaggeration of the jowling effect in the lower face.
The ‘Nefertiti neck lift’ technique, inspired by the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, involves a series of Botulinum toxin injections to the muscle (platysma) which allows the opposing muscles to elevate the lower face, enhancing the contour of the jawline and reducing the appearance of the jowls. Prominent bands of the muscle extending along the neck are also softened.
