Level 7 Certificate Structure - The Four Stages
Acquisition Aesthetics is qualified to offer the only Ofqual regulated Level 7 Certificate in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine. This certificate allows both current and aspiring practitioners to meet Heath Education England’s 2016 Qualification Requirements for Delivery of Cosmetic Procedures in botulinum toxin and dermal fillers procedures.
The Level 7 Certificate has been created to improve and standardise the training available to practitioners who carry out non- surgical cosmetic procedures such as Botox® and dermal fillers. The requirements for practitioners have occurred after concerns regarding the regulation and safety surrounding non- surgical procedures.
The Level 7 Certificate is comprised of four core component stages:
Stage One: E-Learning Modules
8 e-learning modules designed to give all Level 7 Certificate delegates a comprehensive background into Aesthetic Medicine. These modules have been designed by Acquisition Aesthetics to satisfy the criteria stipulated by the new Health Education England Government Guidelines. In addition to the online E-learning modules, the candidate will be supplied with extra material to aid with answering the coursework set which comprises 34 externally set short answer questions (SAQs) externally set.
Stage Two: Foundation Course in Botox® and Dermal Fillers
Our one-day practical Foundation course consists of an overview of the 8 e-modules covered in Stage One of the Level 7 Certificate. It also includes demonstrations on real-life models and the opportunity to inject the models yourself under supervision, whilst receiving expert feedback. Completion of the course will allow you to start practising injectable procedures independently.
Stage Three: Formal Mentoring Scheme
This stage of the Level 7 Certificate is designed to meet the Health Education England guidelines for practical experience. Level 7 students must observe and perform a total of 40 Botox® and dermal fillers procedures (20 observed, 20 performed). These procedures can be acquired via our clinical mentoring days or by using a personal mentor of your choice. On an Acquisition Aesthetics mentoring day, a candidate can expect to achieve a combination of up to 10 observed/ supervised performed treatments.* *Achievement of procedures will depend on the ability and skill of the mentoring group
Stage Four: Final Assessment
The final assessment is comprised of 34 short answer questions (externally set) and a clinical examination (OSCE). Upon passing the assessment, which will ensure your competency and safety for Botulinum toxin and dermal filler injectable treatments, you will be issued with a Level 7 Certificate, regulated by Ofqual. If you do not pass the assessment, you will be given the opportunity to re-take the specific failed component(s) of the assessment again, without incurring additional charges.
