Read on to learn more about the Level 7 course at Acquisition Aesthetics and how our mentoring structure sets us apart from other training providers.
What is the Level 7 aesthetics diploma?
The Level 7 diploma in aesthetics was introduced after tighter regulations on non-surgical interventions were implemented in response to a report by Health Education England (HEE). This report outlined significant issues in the practice of aesthetic medicine that posed a risk to public health and the need to control the training of injectable procedures more strictly.
The Level 7 aesthetic medicine course aims to bridge this gap in aestheticians’ training standards, providing delegates with a comprehensive practical and theoretical understanding of injectable procedures. The diploma is becoming widely recognised as the minimum standard certification to enable medical professionals to practice aesthetic medicine.
The course is open to medical professionals, including doctors, dentists and nurses, as well as pharmacists on a case-by-case basis. With an official deadline of 36 months to complete, it is fully flexible and provides a mixed practical and online aesthetics course. A few of the benefits you can enjoy from completing the Level 7 dermal filler and botox® training include:
- A postgraduate level of understanding of the key principles involved in the field of non-surgical injectable medicine, including comprehensive knowledge of the anatomy of the face and neck and skin physiology.
- The ability to successfully conduct a productive and thorough patient consultation, identifying risk factors and tailoring a treatment plan to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- A thorough understanding of the different types of techniques used in injectable procedures and the ability to determine the best method for each client.
- A highly-regarded qualification from a reputable training provider and the opportunity to learn from an esteemed faculty of trainers.
- A “future-proofed” career in a field that is growing at a phenomenal rate, as well as the freedom of creating your own schedule and an increased work-life balance.
The importance of mentoring in aesthetic medicine training
While the practical and theory elements of injectable training, quality mentorship will provide you with invaluable support and guidance on your aesthetics journey. With a wealth of experience in the field, expert trainers will help you further your skills and knowledge in every area of the industry. The opportunity to engage in one-to-one training will prove invaluable in establishing yourself as an excellent all-around aesthetician.
The Level 7 aesthetics mentoring process
For the successful completion of the Level 7 Diploma, it is mandatory to complete four mentoring sessions under the close supervision of a faculty member and industry expert. Even if you are not enrolled with Acquisition Aesthetics, you can still attend our mentoring sessions and use these as part of your overall qualification.
During each mentoring session, our faculty of expert trainers with take you through every aspect of the client journey, including:
- The initial consultation – The first point of contact with a potential client and the opportunity to obtain a complete medical and aesthetics history and perform an in-depth risk assessment.
- Consenting – By fully explaining all risks and potential complications involved, you’ll provide your patients with a thorough understanding of their treatment process and enable them to make an informed decision. The consenting process will also reduce the risk of litigation for your clinic.
- Treatment plan – Once you’ve conducted your patient consultation, your skills and training will allow you to come up with a personalised treatment plan that addresses their concerns while complementing their existing features, thus helping them to meet their aesthetic goals.
- The procedure – Learn the best techniques for each treatment based on the needs of the individual and their aesthetic concerns.
- The aftercare process – Successfully support your patients after their aesthetic procedure by talking them through the steps they should follow and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
